VSL | TECH REQUIREMENTS

LIGHTING
Lights are REQUIRED for night driving. White light on the front of the car and red light on the back, HAZARDS DO NOT COUNT
HELMETS
Helmets must have a minimum DOT safety rating.
Open face helmets are allowed. plastic J style construction helmets are not allowed nor are bicycle or any other stupid things.
BATTERIES
Your vehicle’s battery must be firmly mounted in the stock location with factory mounting hardware - or - remotely with a minimum of (x2) 5/16” bolts, 1/8” mounting plate, and 1” wide top strap bolted firmly to the relocated position.
Battery boxes are also acceptable as long as they are properly mounted.
Trailer straps, Bungee cords, Belts, Plastic, and zip ties will not pass tech at VSL.
FIRE EXTINGUISHERS
A minimum 2.5 pound fire extinguisher is required to be within reach of the driver while strapped in.
Plastic brackets will not pass tech.
The mount must be of metal construction and be able to withstand a kick from the tech inspector. We like kicking things.
You are responsible for your vehicle.
STEERING/PEDALS/LUGNUTS
Steering wheel and pedals must be firm and free of excessive play.
Floor mats should be removed from the vehicle to ensure there is no pedal interference.
All lug nuts must be present and tight
SEAT BELTS/HARNESSES
Factory seat belts must be in working order.
Harnesses must be attached to a proper harness bar or roll cage.
Harnesses bolted to the floor or strut tower will not pass tech.
SEATS
Seats must be rigidly attached to the floor of the vehicle with a minimum of (x4) 5/16” (8mm) or larger bolts.
ROLL CAGES
Hard top vehicles do not require a roll cage to drive/tandem at VSL.
Convertibles are required to have a 4-point roll bar at minimum. 1.5” .095 DOM minimum.
Bolt in roll cages will not pass tech inspection regarding convertibles.
All vehicles with roll cages must have padding on any bar the driver or passenger’s helmet could come into contact with.
Doors are required and must be closed at all times
TOW POINT
All vehicles must have a tow point attached front and rear
tow point must be rigidly fastened to the car, no straps with zip ties or Knots
tow hooks much be accessible without the staff kneeling to reach them or removing bumpers
tow points must be strong enough to pull your car out of the pit (bonus points if we can lift the car off the ground with it)
EXHAUST
All vehicles must have a MUFFLER in the exhaust system.

if we have spoken to you about the noise you car makes you are required to install a SECOND muffler INLINE. that means 2X per pipe
Turbochargers do not count as a muffling device.
A catalytic converter does not count as a muffling device.
Staff reserves the right to remove any car from the track if they are too loud for any reason they deem appropriate.
